I worked with Community Services at Columbia St. Mary’s (now part of Ascension) to brand a new outreach initiative. The Strong Baby Sanctuary program was formed in 2015 to address Milwaukee’s high infant death rate. It connects soon-to-be and new parents with faith communities to make sure babies are born healthy and grow up strong. The church, or sanctuary, agrees to serve as a resource to provide health-related and parenting support. The initiative is run cooperatively through Columbia St. Mary’s Urban Church Wellness, City of Milwaukee Health Department and the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.
