Sussex Hamilton’s growing school system demanded a new CMS platform and updated design. Representing the design arm for a local WordPress developer, I met with district staff involved in daily website operations to hear their design ideas and functionality goals. Priorities were to incorporate a side navigation system, ability to feature individual school news, images and calendars, and to be visually impactful with a main focal point. I implemented a fresh, vibrant color scheme that complements their district logo as well as separate school sections. The template I comped provides key design elements to bucket their content within a framework that keeps the page visually legible as a whole. Shown here is my final Photoshop comp for the homepage.
